How to Interview Well

How to interview well is the strongest way to gain a significant advantage over the competition, but do you really know how to interview well? Getting hired is very different now a days, it is much easier to get job candidates interviews. The best way to get prepared for the interview is to find as many examples of good interviews as you can.

There are three steps to becoming a top interviewee; interview preparation, interview research and interview practice. Interview preparation is the first and most important step. This is the step that if you do well you will get the job. This is a very important step and you need to give it your all. The other important step is interview research.

You need to be able to answer questions about the company based on your research of the company and the interviewer. Interview practice is very important. You will not get the job here if you are not prepared. practice about how you would do something specific has to be done. How to answer maybe the toughest question you will find yourself in front of an employer.

The questions you might be asked are;

What is your past experience?

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

What is your preferred approach to a project?

What do you feel is the right approach to a project?

What is the biggest mistake you have made in the past?

What is your greatest achievement?

What do you feel is your key weakness?

What do you see as the key strength in your project?

How would you handle a client?

What sort of person do you dislike?

What sort of person do you love to work with?

What is the thing that you are really good at?

What is the thing that you are passionate about?

What is the dream job that you would like to have?

What do you know about our company?

Why do you want to work for us?

What are your current skills and experience?

What do you expect to be able to do in our company?

What will you bring to our company? (the benefit that costs us nothing or that is free)

These are the questions that you need to ask yourself.. This is not the time for modesty or shyness but you need to really sell yourself. At this stage of your life you need to really listen to the questions that are being asked of you, not what you think they want to hear.

You need to have a real understanding of the job and the company that you are interested in joining and be completely honest with yourself as to the opportunities that present themselves for you to take advantage of.. Don’t take a job in a company because it is nearby and easy, take it because it is.

Remember you are in themidst of a transition whether you realize it or not. You are either in the door or out the door. It’s up to you to get hired. Good Luck.

7. Diversify your job search.

8. Networking is important.

9. Jobs postings are competitive.

10. When you find a job opening that suits you better than the one you have applied for, submit your resume.

11. Consider starting your own business/ doing freelance work.

12. Evaluate your current job and determine a new or improved opportunity.

13. Consider working three part-time jobs if you are currently unemployed and do not receive an paycheck.
